MICRODRONES MD4-1000:

The microdrones md4-1000 aerial vehicle is a miniaturised VTOL aircraft (Vertical Take Off and Landing). It can fly by remote control or automatically using microdrones’ GPS Waypoint navigation software.
The md4-1000 aerial vehicle consists of a carbon fibre body, boasts a flying time of 88 minutes and can carry a payload of 1,200 g. Rain, snow and dust pose no particular problem for our aerial vehicles.
The ultra-lightweight robust and weather–resistant carbon fibre body enables the md4-1000 to reach an operating height of some 1,000 metres.

microdrones aerial vehicles are miniaturised VTOL quadrocopters (Vertical Take Off and Landing). They can fly by remote control or in automatic mode using our comprehensive GPS Waypoint navigation system.
Thanks to its unique AAHRS (Attitude, Height und Heading Reference System) novice pilots can learn to fly within a very short time.  Generally a beginner is in a position to control our aerial vehicles after less than one hour of training.

UP TO 88 MINUTES
FLYING TIME

Depending on load and external conditions  (e.g. wind speeds) the md4-1000 aerial vehicle can fly for up to 88 minutes. With the optional video glasses, even flights outside the range of visibility can be carried out.
Four brushless motors result in minimal noise  (less than 72 dBA, hovering at distance of 3m) and maximum efficiency.

The powerful  “6S2P” battery of the md4-1000 enables a flying time of up to 88 minutes. The 6S2P battery ensures more endurance, giving the md4-1000 top marks for its flying time. In addition to our special carbon fibre housing. microdrones is committed to continually perfecting weight in relation to the entire system. 

Our Research and Development department is working constantly on the next generation of battery cells and the latest technologies so as to continually deliver added value to our customers. Ultimately, it is our customers who benefit from the constantly increasing flying times.

Thanks to the carbon fibre housing, the specially developed motors and the highly efficient batteries, it is possible to deploy the md4-1000 UAV in even strong winds, rain and snow. Furthermore, the structural parts and electronics can withstand temperatures up to 130° C, meaning drones can be used at high temperatures. The electronics are extremely insensitive to high voltage and strong magnetic fields.

Our microdrones feature an open interface, which enables users with special requirements to benefit from the vehicle’s full potential. Our System Integrator Interface (SI²) has been conceived as a connection for “intelligent loads”. Its origins are in the state-supported AirShield Project, where it was developed for the transfer of the flight control to the project system’s embedded PC for distributing the sensor measurement data.

SI² is (similar to the Microdrones Waypoint system) offered commercially as an option.

This document gives a brief overview of the mechanical and electronic requirements which an embedded system (henceforth simply ‘load’) must fulfil in order to work with the microdrone. A description of the software protocols between both systems follows.
