The microdrones md4-3000 aerial vehicle is a miniaturised VTOL aircraft (Vertical Take Off and Landing). It can fly by remote control or automatically using our GPS Waypoint navigation software.
The md4-3000 aerial vehicle consists of a carbon fibre body, boasts a flying time of 45 minutes and can carry a load of up to 3,000 g. Rain, snow and dust pose no particular problem for microdrones aerial vehicles.
The ultra-lightweight robust and weather–resistant carbon fibre body enables the md4-3000 to reach an operating height of up to 4,000 metres.

microdrones aerial vehicles are miniaturised VTOL quadrocopters (Vertical Take Off and Landing). They can fly by remote control or in automatic mode using our comprehensive GPS Waypoint navigation system.
Thanks to its unique AAHRS (Attitude, Height und Heading Reference System) even novice pilots can learn to fly within a very short time.  Generally a beginner is in a position to control our aerial vehicles with less than an hour’s training.

With its patented aerodynamic design in combination with new, more powerful motors, the md4-3000 can attain a higher operating speed with  lower wind Cw wind resistance as well as – for the first time – “real” CA values.
The md4-3000 is the first microdrone, to generate aerodynamic lift, similar to the wing of a plane, thus attaining better flight performance and at the same time saving battery power. The optimised 3-blade rotors with adjustable pitch allow applications up to 4,000 metres above sea level.

BETTER RANGE:
Through optimised aerodynamics and at the same time higher maximum speed, maximises the flight radius despite the high load. The larger battery features outstanding energy intensity for dynamic manoeuvres as well as for long flights.

Thanks to the carbon fibre housing, the specially developed motors, and the highly efficient batteries, it is possible to deploy the md4-3000 UAV even in strong winds, rain and snow. Furthermore, the structural parts and electronics can withstand temperatures up to 130 °C, meaning the drone can be used even at high temperatures. The electronics are extremely insensitive to high voltage and strong magnetic fields.

Our microdrones feature an open interface, which enables users with special requirements to benefit from the vehicle’s full potential. Our System Integrator Interface (SI²) has been conceived as a connection for »intelligent loads«. Its origins are in the state-supported AirShield Project, where it was developed for the transfer of the flight control to the project system’s embedded PC for distributing the sensor measurement data.

SI² is (similar to the Microdrones Waypoint system) offered commercially as an option.

This document gives a brief overview of the mechanical and electronic requirements which an embedded system (henceforth simply ‘load’) must fulfil in order to work with the microdrone. A description of the software protocols between both systems follows.
